Job Seekers: This immersion training offers a practical path to a more mindful career journey — whether the focus is a successful launch into the working world, conducting a pro-active job search, exploring a mid-career change, or even aiming to retire and do something entirely different.  Participants will benefit from very real-world guidance that can be put into practice immediately, while helping them be mindful of the process of positive change.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this workshop and bootcamp, participants will have greater clarity and confidence in applying proven strategies and interventions from the domains of career coaching and positive psychology. Professionals (in Career/Workforce Development, Coaching and Higher Education) can provide very real-world guidance to fuel discovery and career mapping. While job seekers will learn how to engage tested self coaching techniques to create momentum and spur positive change.

  • Individuals completing this two day learning experience will gain a stronger understanding and working knowledge of…

  • Collaborative, creative, and effective strategies for meeting the career development needs of persons across generations, including older workers, youth, and transitioning adults.

  • Innovative use of career information and career resources in service delivery and instruction for the individual job seeker and in service delivery and instruction.

  • Creative and/or collaborative applications of theory, research, and practice.

  • Methods to enhance the use and delivery of career services drawing upon proven strategies and interventions from the domains of professional coaching and positive psychology. Organizations such as the International Positive Psychology Association, The Positive Psychology Center at the Univ. of Pennsylvania, the UK's Association for Coaching, and the International Coach Federation provide practitioners with a robust array of practical tools and research based publications to support the process of positive change.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

Individuals completing this workshop can claim 12 continuing education contact hours for recertification with their respective professional associations (CCE, Inc.|GCDF & BCC, NCDA Credentialing Commission|CCSP, CSCDA, CCC, CMCS, CCCE and CCSCC).

 John E. Long, ED.S., BCC, CMCS  John is a professional coach, university instructor and program facilitator. His private coaching practice has offices in Atlanta, GA and Jacksonville, FL. John specializes in career and life coaching, and is the author of the August ‘17 book,  Career Judo – The Martial Art for the Mindful Career .  He also teaches undergraduate courses in education, career development and psychology. John is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he completed an educational specialist degree with a major in counseling and educational psychology. He also holds a master of science degree with a concentration in career development. His professional credentials include:  Board Certified Coach, Certified Master of Career Services, Certified Career Services Provider, Global Career Development Facilitator, Certified MBTI Practitioner,  and  qualified Strong Interest Inventory  Practitioner. John’s work with students and clients takes a strengths-based approach blended with elements of positive psychology and solution focused change.

 Marshall Tucker, CPCC, ACC, CCSP  Marshall is a nationally certified coach based in Atlanta, GA.  He specializes in career and life coaching, facilitation and training, and mindfulness based practice. Marshall completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from the University of Georgia, with a concentration in Economics. He has 10 years of experience spanning the banking and IT sectors, serving in such roles as personal banker, project manager, operational analyst, IT trainer, and chief technology officer. In 2013, he embraced the new role of professional coach. Marshall’s professional credentials include  Certified Professional Co-Active Coach  through the Coaches Training Institute,  Associate Certified Coach  with the International Coach Federation, and  Certified Career Services Provider  through the National Career Development Association Credentialing Commission

Cost: $595/person
Registration Fee | Payment for registration covers the two day training course and certificate fee if applicable. All other costs (travel and accommodations) are the sole responsibility of the registrant.  
Cancellation Policy | Cancellation requests can be submitted to Tressa Dorsey (tressa@tadgrants.com). A $75 cancellation fee will be applied to all refunds. Registration fees are non-refundable for cancellations made 30 days or less prior to the training start date. TAD Grants reserves the right to transfer registration fees on an individual basis and when training space is available.
