This training is designed for professionals working with people with disabilities who want to improve their knowledge and skills in supporting their customers in their quest to find meaningful career and educational pathways.
Training Overview: We will first introduce you to the core concepts of Self-Determination Theory and the Human Rights Model of Disability to expand your understanding of the experience of living and working with a disability. We will then teach you a four-step process for providing career development services to your clients with disabilities. You will learn how to support clients who are neurodivergent, experiencing anxiety, or have physical limitations, among other disabilities.
Our Instructors: Dr. Tina Peterman and Aaron Leson MBA
Dr. Tina Peterman is a Professor at Portland State University, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Certified Clinical Supervisor in Career Counseling. With over two decades of expertise as a Counselor Educator, her focus lies in Rehabilitation Counseling and School Counseling. Beyond academia, Dr. Peterman operates a clinical supervision private practice for career and mental health counselors who specialize in assisting individuals with disabilities or chronic illnesses. Her contributions extend to numerous publications in career counseling and disability studies, alongside a longstanding role on the editorial board of Career Development Quarterly. Beyond academia, Dr. Peterman operates a private practice, where she provides career and mental health counseling, as well as clinical supervision, with a specialization in disability. Her contributions extend to numerous publications in career counseling and rehabilitation counseling.
Aaron Leson has a diverse professional background that spans from elementary school education to large-scale corporate training. As a Master Trainer for the National Career Development Association, Aaron has provided professional development and training to thousands of individuals in numerous industries. Aaron's many credentials, including his Business Services Consultant Certification™ and Global Career Development Facilitator Instructor credential, provide him with the ability to create well-crafted messages that inspire positive growth in employees and the greater corporate culture.
Course Completion and Certification: Upon successful completion and mastery of this curriculum, including required participation in training sessions, passing all quizzes with a score of 80% or higher, and completion of all assignments, students will receive a certificate of completion attesting to this training completion. Plus you earn 35 Continuing Education Hours or Units.

TAD Grants and BJ Paige have partnered in offering this Certified Youth Services Consultant™ (CYSC) training, which you will learn a host of tools to add to your toolbox. Use these tools immediately after this training to help both you and your organization learn some detailed training that will lead you to become one of the newest Youth Services Consultant. With this certification, you will be equipped with the specific training in what we call the 3R’s – Recruitment, Retention, and Relationships. We will break the 3R’s down into three chapters which will have some real time transparency practice for you to do today in the community and share with us to solidify your training. Workforce and Career Development Certification® Training
The Workforce and Career Development Certification® Training (WCDC)® explores the career and workforce development competencies required for the effective delivery of high-quality, career development services. The training utilizes the National Career Development Associations’ Facilitating Career Development curriculum and is built upon three nationally accredited, and industry-recognized certifications; including the Certified Career Services Provider Certification (CCSP), Global Career Development Facilitator Certification (GCDF), and the Certified Workforce Development Professional Certification (CWDP).
The WCDC® coursework includes over 20 core competencies that all workforce development professionals should possess in order to provide their customers with superior service and expertise in the areas of assessment, career planning, business services, working with diverse populations, and ethics.

Back by Popular Demand TAD Grants is offering the Certified Business Services Consultant Training VIRTUALLY!
Unlike other business services training, this is intended to provide practical application for professionals engaged in working with employers on a daily basis. Each step of the process is intended to provide attendees with a clear and defined process that can be replicated with consistency and efficacy.
This course will provide live instruction via zoom and offer ample opportunity for group and individual work with colleagues from around the country.
